Apple Flapjacks

115g margarine
3 tbsp golden syrup
1 cooking apple
115g demerara sugar
225g rolled oats

Preheated Oven: Gas mark 4, 180 C
  1. Melt the butter, sugar and syrup in a saucepan over a low heat until the butter has just melted.
  2. Stir in the rolled oats. Peel the apple and dice the flesh finely.
  3. Stir all ingredients until well blended and press the mixture into a greased tin.
  4. Bake for about 20 mins until the flapjack is golden brown.
  5. Allow to cool for 5 mins then mark into bars. Cut when cold.
