3 tbsp golden syrup
1 cooking apple
115g demerara sugar
225g rolled oats
Preheated Oven: Gas mark 4, 180 C
- Melt the butter, sugar and syrup in a saucepan over a low heat until the butter has just melted.
- Stir in the rolled oats. Peel the apple and dice the flesh finely.
- Stir all ingredients until well blended and press the mixture into a greased tin.
- Bake for about 20 mins until the flapjack is golden brown.
- Allow to cool for 5 mins then mark into bars. Cut when cold.
